Turning our C5 molasses to energy
Another valuable energy stream of the Inbicon Biomass Refinery is C5 molasses, composed of sugar molecules with 5 carbon atoms derived from the plant’s hemicellulose.
Our preliminary tests have shown the syrup to be high in nutritional value for livestock. We’ve successfully tested it for digestibility with piglets, and results confirm a high suitability for hogs and cattle. And their manure returns valuable nutrients to the soil - all part of nature’s recycling plan.
At our demonstration plant we are running C5 through a biodigester and turning it into a valuable source to produce green electricity.
We are also exploring with many other developing technologies to replace current oil-based specialty chemicals and surfactants like plastics.
Start a conversation with us about how you might use C5 molasses. We’d be happy to supply potential partners with samples from our pilot plant or even our Inbicon Biomass Refinery at Kalundborg. Begin by e-mailing us at info@inbicon.com
