The IBUS process
With the IBUS process biomass (lignocelluloses) is converted to 2nd generation bioethanol. The process has been fully demonstrated at our pilot plant in Denmark.
Key features of the IBUS process:
- High dry-matter content in all process streams (20 – 40 %)
- Simple process based on hot water and enzymes
- Energy conservation by integration with power plant
- Sustainable and eco-friendly.

The technology was originally developed to convert straw into bioethanol, animal feed and solid biofuel, but can be adapted to other types of biomass such as corn stover, grasses, bagasse, household waste, etc.
