Technologies

In the mid-1990s, the primary concern in many businesses in the ethanol industry was how much capital was needed to be raised versus how much profit could be gained. Utilities were wasted. The environment was expendable. Since that time we have been working with large scale handling and conversion of biomass. DONG Energy, our parent company, converts more than 1.5 million tons of biomass to energy every year. This gives us a proven edge in biomass logistics: gathering, transport, storage, preparation, and handling.

Since DONG Energy is the largest power plant operator in Denmark, we also have a thorough knowledge of the synergies and technical problems of locating an ethanol plant at a power plant and integrating the processes.
Newer investors, with an international perspective, measure success the way we do: e.g., by focusing on business goals, operating costs, management practices, marketing strategies, profit margins, and expanding technology to move our world without the expense of our environment.

  • Technology Campus

Inbicon’s Technology Campus is located in Denmark. Here we nurture the new ideas that will be tomorrow’s change drivers.

  • 100 kg/h pilot plant

Our 100 kg/h facility has been operated and modified since 2003. Here the biomass is treated at near-industrial conditions, while operational and process parameters can be varied and tested within a short time frame

  • 25 ton/day unit

In 2005 we inaugurated a 25 t/d facility for hydrothermal pre-treatment of wheat straw. This was done as part of the European R&D project ”Co-production Biofuels”. The 25 t/d unit is used by our mechanical development team to test new designs and equipment.
