Biomass for biofuel and bioethanol on pilot scale (PSO 6412)

The project involves optimisation of pre-treatment (Risoe/DONG Energy) and enzymatic hydrolyses (Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen/DONG Energy), C5 fermentation with the thermo-tolerant microorganism of Technical University of Denmark, and separation and characterisation of solid biofuel (DONG Energy).

The project has a budget of EUR 1 million and will be completed in 2008.
