The Inbicon Biomass Refinery.

Cleaner, renewable, sustainable energy made from agriculture’s leftovers-that’s long been the promise of cellulosic ethanol. But the challenge is making fuel ethanol make financial sense to investors and producers. And bringing ethanol to market at a low enough cost to make it make sense to the world’s retailers and consumers.

Inbicon technological breakthroughs can help deliver on the promise of ethanol made from biomass. By integrating our patented processes with existing technologies, we’re creating a new path for a total solution: the Inbicon Biomass Refinery. A new way of thinking about renewable energy. A fossil-fuel-free way to produce it with a bio-energy payback. And a much-needed lift to a world economy thirsty for renewable fuel.

Industrial Symbiosis

A cooperative model for cleaner energy parks
In biology, when different organisms of different species establish a close and mutually beneficial relationship, we call it symbiosis. At Inbicon, we keep discovering symbiotic relationships among different species of industries, like the ones shown here. And maybe tomorrow, among businesses like yours.

Our model is the Industrial Symbiosis of Kalundborg. In three decades, it has grown to nine major companies working together in about 30 different ways. By utilizing each other’s residue and byproducts on a commercial basis, virtually everything is recycled. The waste of one can become an energy supply or raw material for another, boosting both economic and environmental performance.

We also have engineered an Inbicon Biomass Refinery model that will convert about 50MT/hr of straw or stover into 20Mgy of The New Ethanol and two other green energy streams. We are currently signing agreements to accelerate the licensing of our process for world markets.

By integrating our design with existing grain-ethanol plants, coal-fired power stations, and CHP-driven factories, we’ve created a practical path to sustainable renewable-energy businesses. Read more
