At our pilot plant in Denmark, we’ve proven our patented technologies since 2003 using a variety of soft cellulose and lignocellulose feedstocks. Since Denmark grows a lot of wheat, and since our parent company, DONG Energy, had a decade of extensive experience handling wheat straw, we chose that particular biomass to convert into ethanol and other co-products. To expand our capabilities, we’ve proven our process using a variety of feedstocks: corn stover, barley and rice straws, bagasse from sugar production, empty fruit bunches from palm oil processing, even garden and household wastes.
