Researcher from Inbicon receives award
On Wednesday 21 March, Jan Larsen from Inbicon was awarded the Bayer CropScience Award 2007 together with Professor Claus Felby from the University of Copenhagen for ground-breaking research in 2nd generation bioethanol.
The award is bestowed to the two researches for the work on development of a new energy efficient and very simple method for liquefaction of biomass with enzymes at very high dry-matter concentrations. Now, the technology is used in the so-called IBUS process, where residual biomass from agriculture – such as straw – can be converted into bioethanol, animal feed and solid bio fuel.
Every year, Bayer CropScience bestows the Bayer CropScience Innovation Award to persons working with innovative projects in sustainable agriculture and healthy foodstuffs. The award is bestowed to persons (eg students, researchers, persons in the agricultural sector) from one of the Nordic countries who through research or development of the agricultural area have revolutionised areas such as integrated production, feedstuff quality, feedstuff safety, plant breeding and environmental safety.
