DONG Energy's plans to build a demonstration plant in Kalundborg for production af 2nd generation bioethanol has received financial support of  3 mio. EUR from the Danish government.

"We are very happy about the governmental support, and we will start up the detailed plant design immediately. The technology has some great perspectives, and we plan to start the operation in 2009", says Anders Eldrup, CEO of DONG Energy.

DONG Energy has put in more than 10 years of work in the development of a new technology to produce bioethanol from straw and other types of  biomass, and now the technology is ready for large-scale demonstration.
